A landlord is legally required to attend to maintenance defects within the accommodation. If the landlord does not meet these requirements, this could lead to rent decrease, depending on the severity of the defects. A rent decrease is usually for a temporary period of time until the maintenance defects are solved. If you are unsatisfied about the maintenance of your accommodation, notify the Housing Helpdesk. Your landlord will be requested to solve the defects within six weeks by us. If the landlord does not comply, the case will be forwarded to the Rent Tribunal.
